The Sims 3 E3 Trailer

This is the official trailer, taken from Kotaku.com. It's looking pretty good so far.

Star Trek XI Now Starring.... Kratos?

The above image is a composite of four promotional posters for the eleventh Star Trek film (due out in May 2009) shown recently at Comic Con International this year. The image was pieced together by the people at TrekMovie.com. Just look at the enemy, though. I couldn't stop thinking that this looked like Kratos from God of War. The character's name is actually supposed to be Nero, and is portrayed by Eric Bana. He's supposed to be a Romulan, but I think he looks more like a Spartan. Hit the jump for full size versions of all four posters.

Wii MotionPlus Remote Add-On To Enhance Precision

So Nintendo's finally publicly admitted that the motion detection in the Wii has sucked from day one. We've all had our fair share of frustration with it. The wiimote isn't accurate, isn't reliable, and you end up looking like a fool trying to get it to work properly. That's been my experience with it, at least. But now, Nintendo has heard my cry and is making an attempt to right their wrongs...

"Casual" Games, Wii, and the Current State of the Industry

A member of our community, fathamburger, showed me this article earlier tonight, and I couldn't help agreeing 108% with everything the author, Sean Malstrom, had to say. He addresses the issue of companies devoting their attention to making what are now called "casual" games, or, as I prefer to call them, "piles of crap".

You see, the problem is that companies are piling up the garbage so high in a rat race to be the first third party company to be seen as a legitimate competitor of Nintendo and none of them are able to see what they're doing wrong. These games keep crowding our stores' shelves, and people who play real video games are getting furious. The problems are non-stop from there. I don't want to go into too much detail right here, because the article is so good and in-depth, and I don't want to butcher any more of the author's points in my paraphrasing.

Predicting the NBA Game Cover Athletes

It's that time of year again. The NBA playoffs are just a couple of weeks away from the Finals. Only four teams remain, and NBA basketball is at the pinnacle of it's fan-following season. It's about this time of year that cover athletes get revealed for our next basketball games due out this Fall, but before I have someone just tell me who's going to be gracing my cover of NBA Live 09, and who I'll see on the cover of NBA 2K9 at Blockbuster, I want to throw my predictions out there. Just so if I'm right, I can tell everyone "I told you so" for the next year. Hit the "Read More" button to see my predictions and submit your own.

Return of Egypt is for YOU!

It's been nearly a year since I first downloaded and played Return of Egypt, a freeware beat-em-up starring Moses of Biblical fame. I started playing it again tonight and remembered how good it was. The controls work great, and besides the idea of the game being really, really cool, it's actually a pretty fun game.
